My voice, that conscience, fluctuating tone of sensibility. Referred to as powerful, yet understood to be a mixed breed; a mutt. Reaching out of the wired cage of my mind with an intent to be structured and vibrant, but settling for loud. A strong mesh of strident yells and feminine sighs, fooling everyone's perception but my own. My voice; my everlasting tool; my relentless search; my inconsiste
The Making of a LetterShe swallows hard, yet continues to choke on the bitter taste. Her cold, damp hand picks up a chewed pen, and she is ready to start. She punches the ‘off’ button on her second-hand stereo, silencing the heavy metal station screaming out of the worn speakers. She closes the door to the usual sounds of sighs and frustrated footsteps. Hurrying past her vanity mirror, she turns her head away, knowing she would see only hurt reflected in her bloodshot eyes. She leans back on a lumpy pillow propped against the cheap metal bed frame. The shade she pulls down to the windowsill, and lets go. Her hand hovers foThe Making of a Letter
